Do you love your Internet?
February 13, 2008
I sure do, but several corporations think they should have the say as to what you can and can’t view and transmit on the internet that you pay for and have been paying for with tax dollars since its inception. A fer congressmen with their heads on straight have decided to propose an act that would amend the communications act of 1934, previously amended in 1996. This new amendment would add a sub-section pertaining to broadband internet. It is known as HR 5353 or the Internet Freedom Preservation Act of 2008. I could get into the nitty gritty of explaining the bill to you in it’s entirety but I want you to read it for yourself. The link above will open Congressman Markey’s web page with information and the Act itself. In summation the Act proposes to bar corporations from interfering with internet communications in any way and to preserve the freedom of the internet to benefit future inovators. After you read through the act please go to http://savetheinternet.com and sign the petition.
