Newtons First Law
April 30, 2008
As the title states I am in a bit of a state of inertia lately. I want to go out and do stuff and get things done but then I just end up being too lazy to do anything. I need to clean my room, I need to do laundry, I still need to unpack for god’s sake.
I am still waiting to hear back from apple on not one, but two different job positions, as well as several other employers. If I don’t get a job soon I will basically be up shit creek without either a paddle, or a boat. Hopefully I hear something back soon as I currently only have the funds to make it to about the beginning of June which is not too particularly exciting. I seriously need to make a windfall of money or I need to get a decent paying job ad the resolve to save up almost every penny I make.
I guess this coming Saturday is another planning meeting for PodcampAZ which I will definitely want to go to. I guess now I just need to get up off my ass, get some shit done around the house, and start hounding potential employers about hiring me.

It should say ..up shit creek with neither a paddle, nor a boat.
or
up shit creek without a paddle, or a boat.

Dear Internet grammar hero,
Thank you for correcting me, but you are also wrong, if I had changed it to neither/nor it would become a double negative, which means I would be saying I have both a paddle, and a boat. I did however correct it, with proper grammar. Oh and by the way, don’t try to correct someone’s grammar unless you are actually correct yourself. May I also point out your lack of being able to form a sentence. It makes you look both pretentious and an idiotic. Lastly you have horrible netiquitte, please donate your computer to the nearest educational institute.

it would not be a double negative.
look it up.

“”Either” and “Or”
“Either” is also a singular adjective. It means one or the other, but not both. “Either” expresses one noun/pronoun doing one thing and the other noun/pronoun doing another; in this way it is a “positive” word because what is occurring is true. “Either” can be paired with “or”, but not “nor”. “

In the context without denotes a negative, as it usually does. Without niether would be a double negative in that context.

My question is, why worry about it 5 days later?

I missed the “with neither a paddle…” so touche on that part. Unfortunately you still don’t grasp the concept of sentences.

The most relevant point here, grammar cop, is that the person in question is speaking of not having a job, having angst about it, and not knowing what to do. The best you can come up with is to attack their grammar? Have some frikkin’ compassion. Sheesh. Stuff both your nor and your neither into your nethers.

@michebel
Lack of compassion is why i found his blog in the first place.
He was a total jerk to me somewhere else on the net, for no good reason at all.
So in the future the dude should treat others as the dude wants to be treated by them.
Internet rule #101 “Be careful how you treat others on the net, especially if you have a comment enabled blog which is easily found by said others.”
Mission accomplished, FTW!
Get a job!

To the random bitter person who keeps trolling my comments. I could care less what you think of me or how you feel. The fact that whatever I said bothers you enough to come find my blog and post comments on it trying to grief me just proves the fact that whatever I did or said to you was probably with just cause.
And for anyone who gets bored, the IP address of the troll is 65.204.31.36
