I sure do, but several corporations think they should have the say as to what you can and can’t view and transmit on the internet that you pay for and have been paying for with tax dollars since its inception. A fer congressmen with their heads on straight have decided to propose an act that would amend the communications act of 1934, previously amended in 1996. This new amendment would add a sub-section pertaining to broadband internet. It is known as HR 5353 or the Internet Freedom Preservation Act of 2008. I could get into the nitty gritty of explaining the bill to you in it’s entirety but I want you to read it for yourself. The link above will open Congressman Markey’s web page with information and the Act itself. In summation the Act proposes to bar corporations from interfering with internet communications in any way and to preserve the freedom of the internet to benefit future inovators. After you read through the act please go to http://savetheinternet.com and sign the petition.

http://mashable.com/2007/11/23/is-the-listener-license-coming/

Article like this really piss me off. The people that we supposedly vote in to office pander to the pockets of large corporations instead of serving the people, corporations and governments meddle in the affairs of the internet which I may note is practically a country of it’s own now. When the government no longer gives a shit about it’s constituents and instead exercises the will of corporation for profit something is severely wrong. With all regard I love this country and what it is supposed to stand for but there comes a day when you just have to say fuck this shit and take a stand. So for the entire year of 2008 I am not going to rent a single movie, go to a single movie theatre, I will not buy a single cd or even a single song from an online store. I will not attend the concert of any artist signed to a label in any way associated with the riaa. I will download movies and cds I don’t even watch just to upload them and further hurt the bank accounts of these companies. For too long they have been getting away with putting viruses on our internet, rootkits on our cds and dvds. They want to dictate how we watch and listen the media that we pay for time and time again. Fuck them. It is time to enact change, so get out there and vote, hijack a server, punch a ceo in the taint, do whatever it takes. I hate to quote an old credo here, but information should be free, no one owns the data. It is not their place to say what we can and can’t do with it.

At 12:30am Monday morning I recived a knock on my door. Naturally I quickly get out of bed and grab my Hanwei katana and then a pair of pants. Upon answering my door I am swiftly greeted with “MESA POLICE, COME OUTSIDE”. After I am outside the door (aside from my hand holding the katana behind the door) the kind robots in blue decide to ask me my name and then they start to tell me of the crime “I” commited wich led to such a friendly late night visit. Apparently a girl (name omitted for other innocent victim’s privacy) had called the police stating someone called her threatening and harrassing her and that they stated they were me and gave her my name and phone number. The police then briskly swept up from their stools at wichever donut shop or mexican food store run by illegals that they frequent and rushed over to my house to deal with this huge threat to society as swiftly and brutally as they could. I inform the kind officers of the law that I do not know the complainant in question and have no clue who she is. I also thusly inform them that I do not recall making any phone calls at all this evening. At this point officer #1 proudly exclaims “well we don’t make a habit of bothering people who don’t recall commiting a crime”. As I am sure you would be I was highly offended by his mocking quip.

Both officers continued being rude to me all the while I was politely doing all that they asked me too to prove my innocence. At this point officer #1 asked me if I had a job and where I worked. I informed them that I happen to work for the largest fire department in the country and at this point officer #2′s demeanor completely changed. They had then asked me to retreive my phone so I could show them that I had not called the complainant in question which I gladly agreed to do.

As I went inside to grab my phone the officers invited themselves in to my house without my consent. To make matters worse when I went to show the officer my call list he took my phone out of my hand and started snooping through my call list and contacts. After the nice officers decided they could not get any more information from me they decided it was time for them to leave, quite rudely at that.

Now the nice irony kicks in. The crime wich they rushed over here to bust me for was a class 1 misdemeanor. The crimes commited against me not counting the tresspassing of the police total to atleast 4 class 5 felonies or better including criminal impersonation, trafficking in the identity of a person or entity, and according to Arizona state laws terrorism by means of using my Identity to conceal their own.
